Polk St. “Canadian” Eagles

Canadians Zach Diewert of Chemainus, BC and Cole Warken (#17) of Regina, Sk. are making the most of their junior college education to advance to a four year college by playing baseball.  “They both have gotten better since they got here,” said their coach Al Corbeil who played independent ball with the Winnipeg Goldeneyes.  “Diewert with play next year at the University of Missouri and Warken with attend Louisiana Tech.”  The two Canadians were playing for Polk State College against St. Petersburg College at Jack Russell Stadium in Clearwater, Fl. the former spring training home of the Philadelphia Phillies. Cole Warken Bunts for a Base Hit

Zach Diewert connected for a solo homer leading off the Polk State game against St. Pete College. The ball cleared the center field fence to the left of the batters eye striking a third of the way up the light tower.
