Casey Candaele

Casey Candaele may have grown up in the United Stated but his mother Helen and aunt Margret had to be his baseball influence and they were Canadian.  You see both of the ladies played in the AAGPBL in the 40’s and 50’s and were later elected into the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame along with 62 other Canadians who played in the league.  Candaele did spend three seasons as a utility infielder for the Montreal Expos during his nine year major league career.  Paul Quantrill is Canadian and also a member of the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame.  Said by many to have a “rubber arm” Quantrill still holds the NY Yankees record for pitching in 86 games during the 2004 season.
