Chris Colabello homered in the top of the third inning off lefty Patrick McCoy’s first offering as the visitors beat the home team 8-1 in the Blue Jays inter squad game.  The home run was off the batters eye and coupled with a two run double in the first Colabello had four RBI on the day.  The Blue Jays open their 40th spring training on Tuesday when they make the five mile road trip to Brighthouse Field in Clearwater to take on the Phillies at 1:05 PM.

The second base umpire during the Blue Jays inter squad game on Monday at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium is connected to the Blue Jays in more ways than one.  Gary Glover’s wife is the daughter of Blue Jays 1977 opening day starting short stop Hector Torres who also hit the first grand slam in team history.  His wife’s twin sister is married to former major league pitcher Vince Horsman.  Horsman just happens to be the pitching coach for the Blue Jays Double-A farm team in New Hampshire.  Not to be out done is that Glover works on the grounds crew at the Phillies complex in Clearwater.
