DUNEDIN, FLA.–When one 16-year old makes his professional debut in baseball one might want to stop and take it in but two in the same game and in consecutive innings it does get ones attention.  This of note that they are both Mexicans who like Robert Osuna were sign at age 16.
The first was Juan Mesa who tossed a shutout inning using 17-pitches against the Pirates squad at the Mattick Complex in an Instructional League game on Friday September 26, 2014.
Sporting a 90-MPH fastball and a 82-MPH change up Mesa struck out two and allow just one hit before giving way on the mound to fellow countryman Lupe Chavez.
Chavez’s  fastball was a consistent 86-87 MPH with a 68 MPH curve and a change up at 74-75 MPH over his one inning on the mound allowing one hit throwing 15-pitches.
Not to be out done Osuna who is now 19 and had “Tommy John Surgery” in July 2013 started the game going one inning and striking out two on 14-pitches.
