Canadian Nick Pivetta shown taking PFP (pitchers fielding practice) celebrated his 24th birthday on Tuesday Valentines Day during the start of the Philadelphia Phillies spring training camp in Clearwater Florida.  The right handed Pivetta of Victoria, BC will be representing Canada in the 2017 WBC starting next month.  “Oh man I am really excited to go do something like that, getting the experience and to represent my country,” said Pivetta of what it meant for him to play for the Canadian National Team.  “”It’ll be fun.”  Pivetta split last season between Double-A Reading where he was 11-6 with a 3.42 era and Triple-A Lehigh Valley where he was 1-2 with a 2.55 era.  Pivetta was drafted in the fourth round by the Washington Nationals in 2013.
