Choate goes Live

Left-hander Randy Choate faced live hitters for the first time as a Blue Jay on Wednesday.  Signed by the Jays on March 11th to a minor league contract with an invite to Major League spring training 40-year old Choate appeared in 71-games for the Cardinals in 2015.  He posted a 3.95 ERA over 27.1 innings.  Since his debut in 2000 Choate has a 16-14 record with a 3.90 ERA in 672 games 6th most amongst active pitchers, all in relief.  According to pitching coach Pete Walker Choate threw 20-pitches Wednesday to the live hitters.
