Bautista: It’s all About the Fans

DUNEDIN, Fla.–(RSE) Even when you win the major league home run title you still take time to sign for the fans who pay your salary.  Especially if a player has just signed a $64-million, five year contract.

     Those fans at Grant Field in Dunedin who gathered to watch a six inning intra-squad game on Friday got a chance to get an autograph from Jose Bautista.

     Bautista sign for quite a while pleasing as many fans as he could.

     In other Blue Jays news OF Travis Snider appears on the comeback trail after injuring his upper left rib muscles while golfing about two weeks ago.

     “I had no problems swinging,” said Snider, “I took 25-swings off a tee with no problems.  The running and throwing will take some time …in a couple of weeks I could possible get into a game.”

     According to manager John Farrell, “We haven’t pushed him.”

     Friday is the 35th spring home opener for the Blue Jays as they host the Tigers at 1:05 PM

     As a heads up fans watch the sky over the stadium prior to the first pitch as something is supposed to happen?

 

BLUE JAYS NOTES: RHP Jon Rauch (left ankle) threw 35 pitches in the bullpen, “It will be two more bullpens before he gets into a game,” said Farrell. …2B Aaron Hill (upper left quad) didn’t play in Friday’s intra-squad game.  “He went through a full infield drill,” said Farrell, “We’re not going to push him, we want him free and clear.”
