Blue Jays send Rivera West

BLUE JAYS TRADE RIVERA TO DODGERS

The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have traded OF JUAN RIVERA to the Los Angeles
Dodgers in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations.

RIVERA, 33, appeared in 70 games for the Blue Jays this season
batting .243 with six home runs and 27 RBI with a .305 on-base percentage
prior to being designated for assignment on July 3.  The 6-2, 230 lbs.
right-handed hitter was acquired by the Blue Jays on January 21, 2011 along
with catcher Mike Napoli from the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in exchange
for OF Vernon Wells.
