The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have signed RHP CASEY JANSSEN to a two year contract for US $5.9 million with a club option for 2014 valued at US $4.0 million. Janssen will also make a yearly donation to the JAYS CARE FOUNDATION supporting their efforts in the community.

JANSSEN, 30, appeared in 55 games last season, going 6-0, while posting a 2.26 ERA with two saves. With the 6-0 record, he became only the third Blue Jays pitcher and first since Dennis Lamp (11-0) and Tom Filer (7-0) in 1985 to win at-least six games in a season without a loss. The UCLA product was particularly effective after the All-Star break, recording a 4-0 mark with a 1.61 ERA in 27 games. The 6-3, 203 pound right-hander has played with the Blue Jays in all five of his Major League seasons, owning a 21-19 record with nine saves and a 3.81 ERA in 221 games, including 22 starts.
