        The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have signed RHP OCTAVIO DOTEL to a US $3 million contract for 2011, with a club option of US $3.5 million for 2012. RHP CHAD CORDERO has agreed to a minor league contract with an invite to spring training.

        DOTEL, 37, spent last season with Pittsburgh, Los Angeles Dodgers and Colorado, posting a 3-4 record with a 4.08 ERA ands 22 saves. The Santa Domingo, Dominican Republic native held opponents to a .218 average while striking out 10.1 batters per nine innings over the course of 2010. The right-hander has appeared in 630 games (34 starts), over a 12-year career, pitching for 10 different clubs, amassing a 49-43 record with a 3.75 ERA and 105 saves. His .205 opponent’s average as a reliever is the 7th best mark in the majors since he entered the league in 1999, among active pitchers.

        CORDERO, 28, appeared in nine games for Seattle last season, posting a 0-1 record with a 6.52 ERA. In seven seasons for Montreal, Washington, and Seattle, the Upland, California native has recorded a 20-15 mark with a 2.89 ERA and 128 saves, including a career high 47 saves in 2005 for Washington.
