BLUE JAYS NOTES: Jays manager John Farrell usually meets the media prior to the start of workouts during home games so here are a few of his comments. On Brett Lawrie, “He was aggressive on Thursday during base running drills and today he’ll get two at bats.  With the off day tomorrow it’ll be a natural period of rest.”  On Aaron Laffey and Farrell’s thought on him making the team, “He shows us a lot with three pitches and gets outs on the ground.  He throws strikes.”  With Kyle Drabek and his sometimes lack of focus, We’ll put him in every major league setting to see how he handles things.”   As to Laffey and Drabek making the team, “They are still in competition for the staff.”…Concerning Monday’s off day it’s reported that LHP Ricky Romero will face the Tigers Triple-A Toledo Mudhens at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium pitching for Los Vegas at 1 PM. …With the Jays facing the Yankees on Tuesday night in Tampa Brandon Morrow with pitch in a minor league game at the team’s minor league complex at 1 PM.
