D- Jays Weekend Update: Broom Tigers

RHP Luis Santos improved to 4-5 as Dunedin completed their three game sweep of Lakeland 7-2 Sunday afternoon.  Santos allowed two runs over 5 2/3 innings on five hits while walking one and striking out eight.  After allowing a lead off walk in the top of the second Santos then struck out the next six hitters he faced.  Dunedin’s next home game won’t be until June 25th against Clearwater.

Dunedin RHP Murphy Smith improved his record to 4-3 with five solid innings in game one of a double header Saturday against Lakeland.  Smith allowed three runs on five hits while walking one and striking out four.  He did allow one home run to Lakeland’s third baseman Fran Martinez as Dunedin won 12-4.

Christian Lopes with one of his two doubles on the day. Lopes was 3 for 5 with 2 doubles, 2 RBI and a run scored in a 7-2 win over the Lakeland Flying Tigers. Dunedin scored all 7 of their runs in the bottom of the first off Lakeland starter locke St, John. (EDDIE MICHELS PHOTO)
