ROY HALLADAY TO RETIRE AS A BLUE JAY

The Toronto Blue Jays are excited to announce the contract signing of right-handed pitcher Roy Halladay.  This means Halladay will retire a Toronto Blue Jay.

Halladay finished a distinguished 16-year career with a record of 203-105 (.659 winning percentage) in 416 games, 390 starts with an ERA of 3.38.  Roy is among the Blue Jays club leaders in many pitching categories, ranking 2nd in wins (148), strikeouts (1495) and shutouts (15), 3rd in ERA (3.43), starts (287), complete games (49) and innings pitched (2046.2). His 148-76 record as a Blue Jay resulted in a .661 winning percentage which is the highest mark in club history.  He and Roger Clemens are the only two Blue Jays with two 20 win seasons for Toronto and his 22 victories in 2003 are the most in club history.
