TAMPA, FLA.—Former major leaguer Felix Doubront tossed four and 1/3 shutout innings on Thursday against the Yankees in an extended spring game.

Doubront, signed as a free agent by the Blue Jays after being released by the Cubs at the end of spring training allowed just two hits while walking none and striking out six on 62-pitches.

“I was a consistent 91-93 (MPH) today,” said Doubront, I was a good consistent around the strike zone and threw all my pitches really good.  I had a good feeling for all my pitches.”

Doubront likes it that the Blue Jays gave him a chance after he was released.

“I am thankful for the opportunity, to come up and to help the team to win in October.”
As to when he will pitch next Doubront said, “I will come in tomorrow, work out and we will see.”
