Emilio heads to the Midwest

The Blue Jays  have traded utility player Emilio Bonifacio to the Kansas City Royals for a player to be named later or cash considerations.

Bonifacio batted .218 with Toronto this season, adding 16 doubles, three home runs, 20 RBI and 12 stolen bases in 94 games. The 5-11, 200 pound utility man has made appearances at 2B (59 G), LF (20 G), CF (9 G), RF (5 G) and SS (1 G). Over seven Major League seasons the switch-hitter has recorded a .261 average with a .310 OBP and 122 stolen bases in 570 career games.
