Extnded Spring for Podnesnik

[RSEN] –Outfielder Scott Podnesnik (plantar facialis) played in his first game since March 13 going 2-4 with a homer and two runs scored in an extended spring game against the Yankees on Thursday.  Signed to a minor league contract with the Blue Jays on February 16 Podnesnik had no problems.  “My foot feels good,” said Podnesnik who scored from first on Dewayne Wise double in the third, “The training staff has done a real good job putting the plan together that has gone well.”  Podnesnik will continue in expended spring for a short period of time.  “I will probably stay here in extended probably for another week,” said Podnesnik, “Get plenty of at bats and get my timing down.  Then I think I will head off to Los Vegas and get some at bats there.” (Photo by EDDIE MICHELS)
