 TAMPA – Sun Sports/FOX Sports Florida and the Tampa Bay Rays announced today that the team’s regional sports network partner will produce and air live television coverage of five spring training games from Port Charlotte this season – representing the most Rays spring game telecasts in franchise history. All five games will air live and statewide on either Sun Sports or FOX Sports Florida and be produced and distributed in HD.


            Thursday, March 10            1:00pm   Boston Red Sox @ Tampa Bay Rays (Sun Sports)

            Tuesday, March 15              1:00pm   Florida Marlins @ Tampa Bay Rays (Sun Sports)

            Friday, March 18                  7:00pm   Boston Red Sox @ Tampa Bay Rays (FS Florida)

Monday, March 21               7:00pm   New York Yankees @ Tampa Bay Rays (FS Florida)

Wednesday, March 23        1:00pm   Philadelphia Phillies @ Tampa Bay Rays (Sun Sports)


The March 15th game vs. the Florida Marlins will air statewide on Sun Sports but will be a shared production featuring both Rays and Marlins TV announcers.  FOX Sports Florida’s Marlins play-by-play announcer Rich Waltz will be partnered with Sun Sports’ Rays analyst Brian Anderson, with FOX Sports Florida’s Frank Forte reporting from the Marlins’ dugout and Sun Sports’ Todd Kalas from the Rays’.


Complementing Sun Sports’ live television coverage of the Rays spring games will be unique content on the networks’ website,, including reports from Port Charlotte and around the Grapefruit League, exclusive video, commentary and opportunities for fans to interact via both the website and social media at &


In addition, the networks unveiled their lineup of Tampa Bay Rays television programs to be produced and aired on Sun Sports in 2011:


Tampa Bay Rays Season Preview: Sun Sports’ Rays reporter/host Todd Kalas hosts the special previewing the upcoming season. Premieres March 21 at 6:30pm with multiple replays until Opening Day.  

Inside the Rays: Nine 30-minute HD episodes of Sun Sports’ Emmy Award winning series. Shows will highlight players, organization, front office, etc.  Different features will develop as the season unfolds. Each episode will air approximately eight times on Sun Sports.

Tampa Bay Rays Post Season Special: Season review will air at the completion of the MLB season.
