Trevone Boykin (TCU): According to Football Betting Center QB Trevone Boykin from TCU is one of the favorites to win the Trophy with 11/2 odds. Boykin didn’t do anything to help or hurt his chances against Minnesota.  Finished game 338 yards of total offense with a TD.  Close game against Minnesota might make people take a second look but a strong performance against Stephen F Austin this weekend could make up for last weekend.

Ezekial Elliot (Ohio State): Picking up where he left off in last seasons National Championship game, Elliot finished the game with 122 yards on 11 carries including an 80 yard first quarter TD run.

Cody Kessler (USC): 236 yards and 4 TDs against Arkansas State.  Was also sacked 5 times.  USC opens first two weeks against weaker teams, Arkansas State and Idaho.  Gaudy numbers are expected.  Let’s see how he does in conference.

Deshaun Watson (CLEMSON): Played ½ the game against FBS opponent Wofford. Finished game with 194 yards and 2 TD’s as Clemson won 49-10.  Youth and inexperience could hurt him.

Connor Cook (Michigan State): Dark Horse candidate and potential first round pick.  Got off to shaky start in first game but still finished with 256 yards and 2 TD’s.  His candidacy will go as far as Michigan State goes.
