Inauspicious Pirates Start to 2022

Ke’Bryan Hayes signs the biggest in Pirates’ history in Pittsburgh Pirates history, a huge $70 million dollar extension then leaves game opening day.

On April 7th Hayes inked the deal with the Pirates and on opening Hayes left the game with forearm tightness. Hayes missed time last year due to a wrist injury and there was some concern that this would be a day-to-day thing here in 2022.

Since going 0 for 1 on the abridged start on opening day, Hayes is 4 for 9 with a double in RBI. the Pirates 1 and 2 (@ St. Louis opening series, one game postponed) and head into a six game homestand today, two with the Cubbies and four with the Nats.
