Hitting Coach Chad Mottolla and First Base Coach Dwayne Murphy will not return to the Toronto Blue Jays MLB staff in 2014. Murphy will be retiring as a Major League coach. Bench Coach Demarlo Hale, Pitching Coach Pete Walker, Third Base Coach Luis Rivera and Bullpen Coach Pat Hentgen  will all remain in their current roles.

Mottola, 41, began his coaching career in the Blue Jays system in 2007 after concluding a 16 year playing career. The 2013 season represented his first at the Major League level.

Murphy, 58, has served as both hitting coach and first base with the Major League club since 2008 and has been a coach in the organization since 2005. The former Major League All-Star has spent the past 18 years coaching in the Diamondbacks and Blue Jays organizations.
