DUNEDIN, Fla.–(RSE) The Toronto Blue Jays dropped their Grapefruit League lidlifter to the Detroit Tigers 4-0 Saturday before 3,998 fans on a perfect day for baseball.
Jays starter Brett Cecil took the loss allowing just a single tally over his two innings on the hill while the Tigers Phil Coke got the win for his two shutout innings.
Scott Sizemore had two hits for the Tigers while Yunel Escobar and John McDonald each had two hits for the Jays.
The Tigers used seven hurlers which retired the final 14-hitters they faced in the game.
The same two teams face each other in Lakeland Sunday with Pinellas Park’s Jesse Litsch getting the start for the Jays.
