JAYS: FIRST FULL DAY

DUNEDIN, Fla.–Toronto Blue Jays GM Alex Anthopoulos (left) met with the media during the first day of full squad workouts at the team’s Englebert Complex.

“He is more confident and comfortable,” said Anthopoulos of second year manager John Farrell, “Last spring new staff, new players from that stand point there has been a lot of continuity from last year to this year and I think that is good.  Continuity is good.”

As to the quality of talent this year vs last Anthopoulos said, “This is probably the best I have felt about the talent we have in the organization, top to bottom.  We’ve done a lot of work drafting, developing that is going to continue but at the same time the big league roster continues to get better and better.  I think we have a very competitive team.”

Toronto opens it’s spring schedule in just one week as they host the Pittsburgh Pirates on Saturday March 3, 2012 at 1 PM at Florida Auto Exchange Park.
