Jays Update on McGowan & Podnesnik

DUNEDIN, Fl. (RSEN)–Toronto Blue Jays RHP Dustin McGowan is progressing from arm and knee problems as the photo shows and could appear in a minor league spring game in a week to 10-days.

     On an even more positive side OF Scott Podnesnik (foot problems) said this morning that he expects to start tomorrows game against the Yankees.

     “I’m playing on Friday, possibly in the field,” said Podnesnik.

     The 34-year old signed a minor league contract with Toronto on February 16 then his physical problems flaired up.

     Friday’s game against the Yankees could be the Blue Jays first sellout of the spring.
