Kids Blocked in Dunedin

For over 15 years students at the Garrison Jones Elementary School used this bridge as a short cut to school now it’s blocked.  The children walked and rode their bikes through the area to avoid having to go down busy Solon Ave. and Garrison Rd. cutting almost a mile off their trip.  With the construction at the Toronto Blue Jays Englebert Complex and its expansion into the Dunedin residents owned Vanech Recreational Complex it appears that the student short cut route to school is now permanently blocked.

The City of Dunedin residents owned children’s playground at the Vanech Recreational Complex will soon be no more.  Although city officials have said it will be placed at another city park the area residents and children will no longer have a park within walking distance.
