TAMPA BAY – The Tampa Bay Lightning will host the sixth-annual Hockey Day in Tampa Bay on Sunday, March 4 at AMALIE Arena. The full-day event will kick-off at 9 a.m. with a Chase Lightning Made Street Hockey Tournament in the Silver Lot and on Ford Thunder Alley. The full schedule of events is at the bottom of the release.

In addition to the Chase Street Hockey tournament, the NHL/NHLPA Learn To Play jamboree starts inside AMALIE Arena at 9 a.m. Fans can attend all the events inside AMALIE Arena for free, but a suggested donation of $10 is recommended, with all proceeds benefitting the Lightning sled hockey program and Boys & Girls Club of Tampa’s Hockey is For Everyone program. The day will also feature a used Lightning equipment sale, which will take place at Section 128.

The day will be highlighted by the Spectrum Battle of the Badges, a matchup between local fire and police officers involving Lightning alumni with puck-drop scheduled for 4:15 p.m. Fans can come watch Dave Andreychuk, Jassen Cullimore, Vinny Prospal, Adam Hall, Ruslan Fedotenko and many more as they are scheduled to participate in a game with local first responders.

The Honda Lightning High School Hockey League All-Star Game will include the top stars from the past season and will take place at 2:45 p.m. Each of the 17 LHSHL teams will send two players to the All-Star Game in the Eastern Conference vs. the Western Conference showdown.

The Lightning would like to thank all of their supporting partners: Chase, Spectrum, Honda, Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, General Mills, Tampa RV and Shriners Hospitals for Children. All children participating in the Chase Lightning Street Hockey Tournament will receive lunch courtesy of PDQ and Dasani water will be provided by Coca-Cola Beverages Florida.

Coke Florida is celebrating the Lightning by honoring the team during their 25th anniversary season with limited edition, commemorative glass bottles. ThunderBug will assist with unveiling the first six pack of glass bottles on Ford Thunder Alley at AMALIE Arena on Sunday during Hockey Day in Tampa Bay.
