CLEARWATER, Fla.–Toronto Blue Jays RHP Trystan Magnuson (sore right shoulder) tosses two shutout innings against the Phillies extended spring squad at the Carpenter Complex on Saturday April 28, 2012. The nephew of NHL’er Keith Magnuson, Magnuson allowed two hits and struck out  one on 21-pitches with a 93-94 MPH fastball during his third extended spring appearance.  “He is building up his strength,” said Blue Jays rehab pitching coordinator Rick Langford, “The ball is coming out of his hands nice and easy.”

young prospect Dickie Thon after he doubled then scored against the Phillies Saturday April 28, 2012 at the Carpenter Complex.  Thon’s father, also named Dickie, was Sandy’s son Robbie’s double play partner when he first came up to the majors with the San Diego Padres and encouraged him to stay at second base.
