McGowan wants to cut Down on Pitch Count

DUNEDIN, Fla.–Blue Jays right-hander Dustin McGowan (shoulder-knee) continues his journey back to the majors

with 2 1/3 shutout innings in a rehab start for Class-A Dunedin.
     Sporting a 96 MPH fastball McGowan allowed two hits while walking two and striking out four on 44-pitches, 25-strikes.
     “I was erratic, all over the place,” said McGowan, “I’ve just got to quit walking people and throw so many pitches.”
     Last pitching in the majors on July 8, 2008 McGowan has been on the DL for over three full baseball seasons, 1107 calendar days

McGowan expects to pitch again for Dunedin in five days.
