McGowan took the bullpen mound for the third time this spring on Friday saying afterwards, “It’s still a long way to go but I am on the right path.”

As what he has been throwing McGowan said, “Just throwing fastballs and change ups.  Next time I will mix in a couple of breaking balls.”

All the surgery’s can play a bit of a mind game on players as to how he should feel physically after an outing.

“Every day is different,” said McGowan, “Some days I feel like I never had the surgery but right now I am doing everything right to get back.”

As to his thoughts after baseball McGowan says, “I don’t even want to think about it.”

BLUE JAYS NOTES: Saturday is considered the team’s first full squad work out even though every player except OF Scott Podsednik is in camp. …RHP Jon Rauch (right ankle) threw in the bullpen for the first time since Tuesday.
