Tampa, FL – The Outback Bowl will once again highlight the Tampa Bay area to an international television audience on January 2nd as the Georgia Bulldogs meet the Michigan State Spartans. The Bowl will be telecast on ABC and shown to an international audience through ESPN.  Last year’s game was aired in 87 countries.  However, the area will also be highlighted numerous times in the next week as the Outback Bowl Preview Special will be televised at least two times throughout the nation on multiple ESPN TV networks. 

                The first national airing will be on ESPN2 on Monday, December 26th at 2:00 P.M. (ET). The half-hour show is produced by the bowl and looks at the Michigan State and Georgia match up while highlighting numerous amenities of the Tampa, St Pete and Clearwater area. 

Amenities highlighted in this year’s show include such items as Clearwater Beach, the Ft De Soto Park, Busch Gardens, the Florida Aquarium, the Clearwater Marine Aquarium and resident “Winter” the dolphin from the feature film “Dolphins Tale,” and historic Ybor City.  ESPN’s Rob Stone, who will also be the ABC TV sideline reporter for this years’ game, hosts the show.

The show will also be carried twice in the Tampa Bay market on ABC affiliate WFTS TV.
