CLEARWATER, FLA.–Phillies GM Ruben Amaro Jr. (above) takes in both the Double-A and Triple-A farm teams against the Pirates minor leaguers on Thursday March 28, 2013.  Perched on the walkway above the Carpenter Complex Amaro Jr. watched two of the Phillies pitching prospects lefty’s Adam Morgan and Jesse Biddle get their work in.

Lehigh Valley right-hander Jonathan Pettibone drops one down against Indianapolis on Thursday March 28, 2013. Since the Triple-A National League farm teams don’t use the DH when they play each other during the regular season pitchers usually enter a spring training game with a runner on and less than two outs to improve their bunting skills. Pettibone was successful advancing the runner to second. (EDDIE MICHELS PHOTO)

Phillies outfielder Delmon Young (ankle) continues his work with Triple-A Lehigh Valley hitting a two run single on Thursday March 28, 2013. Young still doesn’t run the bases after reaching first but on Thursday he did show a bit of speed running out an infield ground out. (EDDIE MICHELS PHOTO)

Phillies prospect Adam Morgan appears to be heading for Triple-A this season even though he has yet to play two full seasons in the minors. Drafted in the third round in 2011 out of the University of Alabama, Morgan spent 2011 at Short-Season Williamsport then split 2012 between Upper-A Clearwater and Double-A Reading. This spring Morgan posted a 0-1 record with the parent Phillies with a 1.93 over three games (9 1/3 innings) walking five and striking out 11. In 2012 Morgan struck out 169 batters.
