RAYS HOMESTAND FEATURES TWO DIVISION-LEADING TEAMS AND TWO POSTGAME CONCERTS

ST. PETERSBURG, FL—The Tampa Bay Rays begin a six-game homestand on Labor Day, Monday, September 3 when they open a three-game series against American League East rival New York Yankees (September 3-5) followed by a three-game set with the American League West-leading Texas Rangers (September 7-9).  Beginning tonight, Friday, August 31, the Rays have 31 games remaining in the regular season, 24 of which are against AL East opponents.

scheduled for 7:10 p.m. as part of the popular Rays Summer Concert Series.  Calvin Harris was the most successful songwriter in the U.K. last year, according to trade magazine Music Week from a recent post on BBC’s news site.  Leading the charge were his major smashes “We Found Love” for Rihanna and his own productions “Bounce” with Kelis and “Feel So Close,” which has now gone Platinum.  Harris’ newest track “Let’s Go” featuring Ne-Yo is a high-energy electro-house track destined to become a summer anthem.  Live, Harris is a major festival act having dazzled audiences at Coachella and Electric Daisy Carnival NYC with his stellar DJ sets.  The concert is free with the purchase of a September 7 game ticket.  In addition to their game tickets, fans can watch Calvin Harris from the field by purchasing field access passes available at raysbaseball.com/concerts.

On Sunday, September 9, teen sensation Coco Jones will perform a concert following the Rays-Rangers game scheduled for 1:40 p.m. as part of the popular Rays Summer Concert Series.  The actress, singer and star of Disney Channel’s Original Movie: Let It Shine, has also appeared on hit shows So Random! and Radio Disney’s Next Big Thing. Her latest album, Let It Shine, is currently the 17th most downloaded iTunes album and is regularly played nationwide on Radio Disney.  In 2011, she collaborated with fellow Disney standout Adam Hicks for the soundtrack toShake It Up 2:

Live to Dance.  Coco is the daughter of former NFL defensive end Mike Jones.  Sixteen-year-old Shannon Magrane, 2012 American Idol finalist and daughter of former major league pitcher and former Rays broadcaster Joe Magrane, will open for Coco.  The concert is free with the purchase of a September 9 game ticket.

This marks the fifth season of the Rays Summer Concert Series produced by Ruth Eckerd Hall on the Road.

The Baseball Tomorrow Fund and Waste Management Co. are partnering on an Equipment Drive at Tropicana Field throughout the Rays-Yankees series (September 3-5) to support the Police Athletic League of St. Petersburg.  Fans are encouraged to bring any new or used baseball or softball equipment to the Waste Management Bagster bag collection points located inside Gate 1 and Gate 5 of Tropicana Field.  All fans who donate equipment can register to win Rays prizes and tickets.

On Saturday, September 8, the Rays Wives and All Children’s Hospital are sponsoring the Second Annual Mystery Ball and Silent Auction.  Each donation of $40 allows the donor to choose one mystery ball, which contains an autograph from a current major league player or coach.  The baseballs will be sold at Gate 1 and 5 and the silent auction will be held outside of Section 106 in Tropicana Field.  All proceeds go to the All Children’s Hospital Foundation.

The homestand will feature five unique giveaways.  Due to popular demand, the Rays will hold a second Zim Bear giveaway on Monday, September 3.  The first 10,000 fans will receive the one-of-a-kind Zim Bear presented by Tampa Bay Times.  On Tuesday, September 4, the first 10,000 fans will receive a free Fernando Rodney collectible T-shirt presented by Tampa Bay Times.  On Wednesday, September 5, the first 10,000 fans will receive a Carlos Peña Home Run figurine presented by Fresh for Florida Kids.  On Friday, September 7, the first 10,000 fans will receive a Rays neon hat presented by Tampa Bay Times.  On Sunday, September 9, the first 10,000 kids 14 and under will receive an Evan Longoria Mini Drum Set presented by Bright House Networks.

TAMPA BAY TIMES FAMILY FUN DAY (every Sunday home game)—Bring the whole family out to Tropicana Field and enjoy family-friendly activities and a chance to run the bases after the game presented by Find the Fun Now.  Family Fun Day tickets for Sunday (September 9) vs. Texas start at $23 and include a hot dog, Pepsi and snack (subject to availability).  Visitraysbaseball.com for details.  Ticket prices increase $3 five hours prior to each game and are subject to change at the Rays discretion.  Special promotional giveaways are given to the first 10,000 kids 14 and under in attendance.  There will be no Wiffle Ball or the opportunity to run the bases on Sunday, September 9 due to the Coco Jones postgame concert.
