Romero Released by Jays

The Blue Jays have released lefty Ricky Romero.

Romero will make $7.5MM in the last year of a $30.1MM contract he signed in late 2010. He will receive a $600K buyout for 2016.

Romero, who was the 5th overall pick in 2005, was once the opening day ace for the Blue Jays.  In  Romero best season he finished tenth in the Cy Young race and had a 2.92 ERA, averaging seven strikeouts per nine innings. That was 2011, here in 2015 Romero is released by the Blue Jays.
