DUNEDIN, Fla.–Toronto minor league right-hander Sean Shoffit took another successful step towards his transformation from outfielder to pitcher on Friday October 21 with his second bullpen session.
The 26-year old made the switch mid-way through the 2010 season but injured his right knee prior to the 2011 season that put his plans on hold.
Over almost six seasons in the field Shoffit hit .240 with 27 homers and 185 RBI before converting to a pitcher.  Then during the 2010 season when he made the switch Shoffit went 1-3 with a 6.17 era, walking seven and striking out 25 over 23.1 innings.
Shoffit doesn’t yet have a contract for 2012 but is confident that he will.
