TAMPA, Fla. – Pugilist Promotions fighter and Tampa-native Charlie “The Beast” Serrano (14-2-1, 4 KOs) will travel to San Juan, Puerto Rico in search of his 10th-consecutive win, as he battles Camilo Perez (6-0-0, 4 KOs) in a six-round junior featherweight contest on Saturday, March 10th.

The fight will be on the untelevised portion of Showtime Championship Boxing’s presentation of Orlando Salido vs. Juan Manuel Lopez II (10pm ET), originating from the Coliseo Roberto Clemente.

“This is hands-down the biggest fight of my career,” said Serrano. “I train hard to win, and I see Camilo Perez as another test to get to the top. Leaving Tampa and going Puerto Rico is going to be a very good experience for me. I can’t wait to start applying pressure from the opening bell, and show the Puerto Rican-crowd, as well as the folks at Showtime what kind of fighter I am.”

“I have had the pleasure of watching Charlie Serrano grow over the past few years as both a professional boxer and as a person,” added Pugilist Promotions President and Chief Executive Operator Aaron Jacobs. “He has defeated some of the best featherweights in the state of Florida, and this fight against Camilo Perez gives ‘The Beast’ the opportunity to display his skills on the undercard of a major, nationally televised boxing event.”

Serrano, the Florida State Featherweight Champion, is one of the toughest fighters on the Southern boxing circuit and is coming off an impressive, first-round, technical knockout of Mario Lacey on February 10, 2012. “The Beast” overwhelmed Lacey from the opening bell, dropping him three times with thunderous body shots.

With his never-back-down style, Serrano has built one of the strongest fan bases in the Tampa Bay-area and has collected every professional win of his career in his hometown. Now, he is looking for his first win outside of Tampa, and he will be traveling to Perez’s backyard of San Juan.

“I think the boxing fans in Puerto Rico are going to be very impressed with Charlie and his all-action style,” said Jacobs. “I give all of the credit for Charlie’s success and improvement to his unbelievable work ethic, as well as his father/manager, Michael Serrano, and his trainer, Carlos Rivera. We know Camilo Perez is a talented fighter, and a decorated amateur.  However, there is no doubt Charlie is up to the task, and will take one giant step closer to his goal of winning a world title.”
