Well for those of you that were bored by the 12-9 NHL All-Star game this past Sunday you are not alone.  Please feel free to include yours truly.

That 12-9 score was not a joke but when one takes a look at the box score you can clearly see not one penalty was assessed except for a penalty shot.

This writer watched about five minutes of the first period and didn’t see any players even come within a sticks length of their opponents.  Gee the Bantam/Midget in-house game I was the referee for Sunday morning had more contact in just the first period than the whole all-star game.  What a waste fans.

Also last Sunday was the NFL’s Pro Bowl or should I say the NFL’s Semi-Pro Bowl.

Since it was played the week prior to the Super Bowl a lot of talented players weren’t there so here is the situation to this whole NFL money maker.

First off play the Super Bowl the week after the NFC/AFC Championship games then play the Pro Bowl the week after the Super Bowl.  Simple eh!  Unfortunately it will never fly as to many dollars are involved and the fans be damned.

Enough said on this for now.

Now how about some good news and that is an over 50 hockey league forming at the Tampa Bay Skating Academy in Oldsmar.

If you just might be interested call James Boyette at 813-854-4010 extension 105.

A PS to the above or just an incentive, I won’t be refereeing any of the games, so until then…
