CLEARWATER, FLA.–Tom Cheek’s final resting place at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Gardens in Clearwater.  The “Voice of the Blue Jays” will be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame on Saturday when his widow Shirley accepts for him the 2013 Ford Frick Award in Cooperstown.

Perhaps Blue Jays all-time franchise moment was Joe Carter’s  title-clinching home run in Game 6 of the 1993 World Series. Cheek’s call was

Touch ’em all, Joe! You’ll never hit a bigger home run in your life!

Cheek a Blue Jay legend, started with the Jays during their 1977  inaugural season and was there in until his retirement in 2004.  That’s 27 years, 4,306 consecutive games and 41 post-season games.
