September is just around the corner. You know what that means…the start of that sacred time of the year commonly known as football season. Yes, football season is here and millions of people play “Fantasy Football.”  The Tyler McLellan Foundation with the help of FantasyJocks.com and Rocket Sports & Entertainment are taking its fundraising efforts to the field.

The idea of starting a Fantasy Football league for charity was one foundation president Kevin McLellan had last year while searching for a special prize for another football event they were having.  During his search, McLellan came in touch with Fantasyjocks.com president Dustin Remy who donated a Fantasy Football Championship belt to his efforts.

McLellan says: “Last year was our first year out with this new fundraiser and we were happy with the results, this year we have we have increased our prizes and are sure we will get the support of our supporters from last year, as well as new supporters.  We will have 100 spots open for ten leagues with ten teams in each league and we are very excited to see the response.

If you are interested in participating, here’s what you need to know: There will be an online draft on a date and time to be determined, most likely the third week of August or first week in September.  If you are unavailable the night of the draft, there is a feature called auto draft where the computer makes selections for you based on pre-determined rankings. You will have the ability to make moves throughout the year.  Should more than 100 people express interest, there can be multiple leagues. But please, contact us quickly if you have interest in participating as there is a limited number of available spots.

Proceeds from this fundraiser will help the Tyler McLellan Foundation in “keeping kid’s in youth sports.”

GIVE BACK PROGRAM to YOUTH SPORTS

With budgets being cut every year, one of the areas that take a hit are our youth sports programs.  The cost to parents is sometimes too much if they have not only one child, but two or three, and especially if they are a single parent.  The people that run these sports programs all believe in “no child left behind” and each program will offer special scholarships for parents that need help with registration costs.  With that said, now the program needs to think of other ways to absorb the cost to make sure they have a profitable year with these sports programs. These programs need help and with them, every little bit helps.

Kevin McLellan president of the Tyler McLellan Foundation wants to help as many youth sports organizations as possible in some small way.  Being a smaller youth sports foundation, McLellan knows what it is like to have fundraisers and raffles to try to raise money to help keep kids in youth sports.

This year they are offering a “Donate Back” program to all youth sports organizations, where the Tyler McLellan Foundation will donate 10% back to each youth sports group for every individual entry into “TYLER’S TEAM” Fantasy Football 2015 from their friends, family, coworkers and parents of the organization.  McLellan says, “this is an opportunity to raise more money for their program and like any fundraiser, the more tickets or registrations you sell, the more money your organization will make”.

NOTE: The Tyler McLellan Foundation was started after the McLellan’s lost their 15-year old son in an “Angel Flight” plane crash in Tampa on July 17, 2008.  The foundation is geared towards rewarding perseverance and not allowing a family’s finances to hold players back.
