CLEARWATER, Fla.–The Philadelphia Phillies first pick (40th overall) in this years draft Shane Watson throws the first pitch (a ball) of his pro career on Friday August 3, 2012.  Getting the start in the first game of a GCL doubleheader against the Tigers at the teams Carpenter Complex Watson needed just 10-pitches, six for strikes to complete his one inning of work.  Watson got his perfect inning via a ground out, strike out and fly out.

Phillies GCL pitching coach Steve Schrenk is working closely with Watson who was selected by the Phils this past 2012 Amateur Draft.  Watson, here in Clearwater is a long way from the suburbs of Los Angeles where he palyed ball at Lakewood High School.
