Returns as sponsor of the Acura Yacht Club and Acura Sports Car Challenge

January 17, 2012 (St. Petersburg, FL) – The Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg welcomes back Acura as marquee sponsor and host of the prestigious Acura Yacht Club program. The members-only club is located on specially-built private floating docks located in the St. Pete South Yacht Basin alongside the Honda Grand Prix race track, providing unprecedented access and vantage points from Turns 10 and 11. The exclusive and luxurious club also offers added benefits such as VIP suite passes, paddock passes, a closed-circuit video feed of on-track action and access to all event sites.

In addition to sponsorship of the Yacht Club, Acura will continue as the title sponsor of the 2012 Acura Sports Car Challenge, featuring North America’s top production car-based competition, the Pirelli World Challenge Championship.

“The yachts in St. Petersburg Marina have always contributed to the Monaco-style ambience of our event,” said Kim Green, Co-Owner, Chairman and CEO of the Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg. “Watching some of the best racing on the planet from the comfort of a yacht docked in a well-appointed marina has got to be one of life’s finer experiences. The program is a boon for boaters, vendors and all of our business partners.”

Private floating docks at the Acura Yacht Club are $4,000 for a 30-79 foot slip and $9,500 for an 80-150 foot slip. Boating enthusiasts can secure their slip at the picturesque St. Petersburg Marina for race weekend, March 23-25, 2012, by visiting www.gpstpete.com or calling (727) 898-4639 ext. 203.
