Bour Hour 2
By Rick Sassone on June 5, 2014
The 2011 FSL Home Run Derby Champ Justin Bour got his first MLB hit today at Tropicana Field vs. the Tampa Bay Rays.
Bour hit 23 HR’s in the 2011 for the A+ Daytona Cubs and has 83 HR’s for his minor league career. This season Bour has played 55 games for AAA New Orleans Zephyrs of the Pacific Coast League and is batting .330. Getting the start today for the Marlins at DH Bour wasted no time getting his first MLB hit. It was in the top of the 4th, Bour’s second at bat, when he hit a crushing, well it was an infield nubber off the end of the lumber. At 6’4′ – 250 it might be one of the few nubbers Bour hits for.
I remember speaking with Justin after the HR Derby back 2011 and it was a pleasurable interview that left me thinking, what a great guy.
Congratulations Justin Bour on your first MLB hit, here at Rocket Sports & Entertainment Network we wish you many more, just preferably not against the Rays.
This is Rick Sassone, I will see you soon, at the Trop!
