Boxeo Telemundo starts its summer season June 24 from Tampa

Boxing June 24-2016Tampa, Fla– The #1 Boxing Program on Spanish Television, “Boxeo TELEMUNDO Ford” will kick off its Summer Season Friday, June 24 from the A La Carte Pavilion in Tampa, Florida.

The main event will feature a clash between world ranked contenders when WBO Latin super flyweight Champion Ricardo “Meserito” Rodriguez of Mexico City, Mexico faces interim Champion David “Gabo” Quijano of Caguas, Puerto Rico in a bout schedule for 10 Rounds. Rodriguez (26) ranked #15 WBO, is a series favorite having fought 6 times only losing twice to world ranked contender David Carmona in highly competitive encounters and has a pro record of 13-3-4 KO’s. Quijano (29) on the other hand is ranked #14 WBO, in his last fight defeated Daniel Lozano in the same ring at the A La Carte to capture the interim title and his right to face Rodriguez bringing his record to 16-5-1-9 KO’s.

Also on the card undefeated 21 year old welterweight prospect “Hurricane” Sammy Valentin (6-0-5 KO’s) of Tampa. Valentin who recently inked with All Star Boxing stopped veteran Cosme Rivera in his last fight March 4. His opponent and the rest of the show will be announced shortly.

The Boxeo Telemundo Ford Summer Series will run for 4 consecutive Friday’s July 1st and July 8 from Mexico City and will end July 15 at the Kissimmee Civic Center.
