Castroneves wins in the Streets

St. Petersburg, Fla. – Helio Castroneves wins the 2012 Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg… and pays personal tribute to Dan Wheldon by immediately running to the “Dan Wheldon Way” sign.

Castroneves ran to the fence to climb, looked up and there was the Wheldon sign. After the race Castroneves admitted to not realizing the sign was there until he climbed the fence.

Castroneves was able to pass Scott Dixon in turn one to never look back.

Catroneves is the first driver to win on the Streets of St. Petersburg three times (2006 & 2007) and it marked the 101st time he finished in the top five.

Wendy was able to catch the Castroneves crew on the pre-race grid.
