Izturis Signs

The Toronto Blue Jays signed infielder Maicer Izturis to a minor-league deal which includes  an invite to spring training. Izturis spent the last three seasons with the Blue Jays organization but has not appeared in a major-league game since April, 2014 while recovering from multiple injuries. Izturis has  39 career home runs and 334 RBI.

New Sod for #40

The half field at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium in Dunedin gets its new sod infield on Tuesday in preparation for the Blue Jays 40th spring training.  The team’s first workout is scheduled for February 22nd when pitchers and catchers hold their first workout.  

Spring Singles on Sale

With the Blue Jays 40th spring training starting on March 2nd against the Phillies fans lined up on Wednesday for their first chance to buy single game tickets.  As in the past the Yankee and Red Sox games seem to be the fans favorites.

Dunedin Baseball Renewal

New Field in Dunedin

The Toronto Blue Jays are redoing the practice half field adjacent to Florida Auto Exchange Stadium in Dunedin.  The field is where RHP Marcus Stroman tore his left knee during spring training in 2015 causing him to miss the bulk of the season.    

Mattick Complex Upgrade

Lived in Look: Howard’s House

On the gulf side of the Howard resident there is a roped off area for foliage and at one time a couple of turtle nests. Phillies first baseman Ryan Howard’s new home on Gulfview Blvd in Bellaire Beach, Fl. appears to be starting to get that lived in look.
