By Rick Sassone on March 13, 2019The Minnesota Twins took a run one lead into the top of the ninth and added five runs to lead 10-6 as that’s how the score ended when the Pittsburgh Pirates went down in the bottom.
A walk, a couple singles, a HBP and a bases clearing triple by LaMonte Wade and then a sacrifice fly was all the damage in the visitor’s of of the ninth was the insurance the Twins needed.
Twins reliever Jake Reed entered the ninth by giving up a double to Jose Osuna but two k’s and a fly out ended any chance of of tying or walk-off heroics in the this mid-spring contest.
Wade was 1 for 2 with the triple, 3 RBI and scored on the sac fly by Brain Navarreto.
The Twins bullpen also noteworthy only giving up four hits in six innings.
