Over 400,000 People Attended The 8 Day Celebration of Music At Louder Than Life & Bourbon & Beyond

Danny Wimmer Presents Welcomed 410,000+ Music Fans From Around The World To Celebrate The 8 Biggest Days In Music In Louisville, Kentucky At Louder Than Life (September 17-20) And Bourbon & Beyond (September 24-27)
(September 30, 2026): Danny Wimmer Presents, the largest independent producer of destination music festivals in the U.S., welcomed 410,000+ music fans from around the world to Louisville, Kentucky to celebrate the 8 biggest days in music. Louder Than Life (Sept. 17-20) and Bourbon & Beyond (Sept. 24-27) saw nearly 300 music artists taking the stage across the two festivals.

Both events were held on the expanded festival grounds at Kentucky Exposition Center and included free access to select amusement rides inside the adjacent Kentucky Kingdom amusement park. Altogether, the two events—both 2026 IEBA Festival Of The Year nominees–generated nearly $40 million in economic impact for Kentucky.

The 12th year of Louder Than Life—America’s Largest Rock, Metal, & Punk Festival—marked the largest lineup in the festival’s history from September 17-20 with 4 days, 7 stages, 200+ bands. Performances included sets from My Chemical Romance, Iron Maiden, TOOL, Limp Bizkit, Gojira, Pantera, Pierce The Veil, Papa Roach, A Day To Remember, Sublime, Megadeth, Danny Elfman and many more.

Bourbon & Beyond—the World’s Largest Bourbon, Food & Music Festival—celebrated its 8th year with 100+ music artists on 5 stages, along with premium spirits and culinary experiences from September 24-27. Music performances included: Foo Fighters, Mumford & Sons, Chris Stapleton, Dave Matthews Band, Queens of the Stone Age, Kacey Musgraves, The Red Clay Strays, Hootie & the Blowfish, Counting Crows, Foster The People, Goose, Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, and many more.

In a historic move, Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear joined state officials and music industry leaders including Danny Wimmer onstage at Bourbon & Beyond to announce the Governor’s Office of Music, a new department dedicated to highlighting Kentucky’s storied music legacy and to supporting Kentucky artists, venues, festivals and music businesses.
Here are some of the festival highlights:

- Iron Maiden’s first performance in the state of Kentucky in over 40 years
- Surprise performance from Kentucky natives Knocked Loose
- One of Pantera’s only U.S. shows of 2026
- Danny Elfman’s first show in the Eastern half of the U.S. in nearly a decade, with a set featuring Oingo Boingo hits, his well-known film themes and new songs
- One of Megadeth’s final farewell performances
- One of the most prominent all-female-fronted stage lineups assembled at a major U.S. rock festival, with Halestorm, In This Moment, Lindsey Stirling, Orianthi, Icon For Hire, Kami Kehoe, and Diamante
- Lindsey Stirling joined Halestorm on their 2014 collaborative song “Shatter Me”
- Reunion sets from Circa Survive, Get Scared, Blood For Blood, Metal Church, Primer 55, Sent By Ravens and 40 Below Summer
- The festival’s Headbangers Hall guest bartenders included members of: Between The Buried and Me, Blue Medusa, Emery, Fit For A King, From Ashes To New, Lee Jennings / The Funeral Portrait and Mac Sabbath. The bar also transformed into Eddie’s Dive Bar featuring Iron Maiden pinball, Robinsons Trooper Original Ale, Lagunitas Trooper West Coast IPA, Darkest Red wine, an exclusive Rime of the Ancient Mariner cocktail, and much more.


- Mumford & Sons’ first show in Louisville in nearly a decade; during the set, they were joined by Marcus King on guitar and backing vocals for “Here”
- Dave Matthews Band celebrated 30 Years of their most popular album, Crash, during Sunday’s closing performance; the set included special guest appearance by fiddler Jake Simpson of The Lil Smokies
- Hootie & The Blowfish played their first show in Louisville, KY in over 30 years
- Lisa Loeb played her album Tails in its entirety on the 25th anniversary of the album’s release
- The Return of Jackie and Judy, a Ramones tribute supergroup comprised of Sleater-Kinney and comedian/film & TV star Fred Armisen, made a rare live appearance
- The Fork & Flask Stage curated by Kroger offered culinary and spirits demonstrations hosted by Chef Chris Santos (Chopped) and bourbon, wine and spirits expert Chris Blandford. They were joined by acclaimed chefs including Sargento Brand Ambassador Chef Tyler, Sara Bradley, Claudette Zepeda, Sean Brock, Amanda Freitag, Mei Lin and more.
- Chris Stapleton and Master Distiller Harlen Wheatley took the Fork & Flask stage for a conversation about Traveller Whiskey
- Lonnie Ali, Co-Founder, Interim President and CEO of the Muhammad Ali Center, received the inaugural DWP Local Changemakers Award. Presented by Danny Wimmer on behalf of the DWP Foundation and Be The People, the award recognized her decades of work carrying Muhammad Ali’s legacy of compassion and service into the Louisville community.
- Through a partnership with EqualizeHer and Inherit the Music, the DWP Foundation hosted AMPED Music Academy students for a behind-the-scenes festival tour and is making a donation to support AMPED’s work. The Music Experience, presented by American Musical Supply, donated instruments and equipment to help AMPED students create, learn and make music.

Louder Than Life and Bourbon & Beyond pass purchases included a charity fee for the DWP Foundation, which gives back to local and national charities throughout the year. In 2026, the DWP Foundation is supporting Dare to Care, Preston Area Business Alliance, Fund for the Arts and others.
DWP also partnered with NAMI Louisville on the “You’re Not Alone Zone” at both festivals, giving fans a welcoming place to pause, connect with mental health support and learn about resources. NAMI also supported artists, crew and staff behind the scenes.
Community partners for both festivals included AJS Hotels, Kentucky Proud, Kentucky Venues, Louisville Metro, Louisville Tourism, Louisville Marriott Downtown and Team Kentucky.
Danny Wimmer Presents signed a 10-year agreement with Kentucky Venues to keep Bourbon & Beyond and Louder Than Life at the Kentucky Exposition Center through 2035. Look for 2027 dates to be announced soon.
