The Twins got to Pittsburgh starter Clayton Holmes and the big blow was a three-run homer by LaMonte Wade in the second inning. Holmes, the loser, gave up 3 runs (2 earned) on 3 hits on three innings of work.
Minnesota pitching was stellar, while Perez got the win going three scoreless innings, walking one and striking out three, the bullpen of Trevor Hildenberger, Fernando Romero and Chase DeLong combined for five innings, one run and one hit.
