Tampa, Fla. — Rising junior quarterback Mike White (Fort Lauderdale) has been granted a release to transfer from the USF football program, Head Coach Willie Taggart announced Tuesday.
“Mike and I talked after the conclusion of spring practice, and he expressed his desire to pursue the remainder of his career at another school,” Taggart said. “We wish Mike all the best in his future and thank him for his contributions to our program and University.”
White, who logged 15 starts in his first two seasons at USF, was engaged in a close quarterback competition during the spring with senior Steven Bench (Bainbridge, Ga.) and sophomore Quinton Flowers (Miami), who both started games in 2014.
