Osuna went his scheduled two innings allowing three runs on three hits, one home run, while walking one and striking out two with a consistent 91 MPH fastball.
“No I wasn’t,” said Osuna through an interpreter (Coach Antonio Caceres) when ask if he was nervous, “I felt good. It was just pitching like I was at home, a regular game with no pressure.”
At 16 most youths are still in school, Osuna was ask what he would be doing now back in Mexico if he wasn’t playing professional baseball here in the United States.
“They play (baseball) Saturday so I would probably be playing.”
It was announced on August 30 that Osuna along with three players from Venezuela and three from the Dominican Republic had signed with the Blue Jays.
Osuna does have major league blood running through his veins as he is the nephew of former major league RHP Antonio Osuna.
