Shank is the word at ROLEX in Daytona

Rocket Sports & Entertainment Network racing correspondent Rodney Meyering got up close and personal at the ROLEX 24 Hours at Daytona. The 2012 edition was the 50th anniversary of the 24 hour race and what a great 24 hours for the Michael Shank Racing team as the Shank team took first and third place.

I guess one could say the 9th time is the charm for Michael Shank as this was his 9th attempt at

the coveted ROLEX 24 Hour checkered flag. Completing 761 laps was just one lap shy of the race record from back in 1992.

Up next for the Shank team is the Porsche 250 Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Alabama March 30th – April 1st.

(The competitive GT class was won by the No. 44 Magnus Racing Porsche with team owner John Potter, Andy Lally, Richard Lietz and Rene Rast.)
