Appleton’s Jansen Crushes one off Hill

By on April 20, 2014

DUNEDIN, FLA. –Appleton resident Dan Jansen kept his eye on the ball Saturday April 19, 2014 when he hit a solo homer.  Jansen was leading off the fourth inning of an inter squad game at the Toronto Blue Jays minor league complex taking it deep to left center field off former major leaguer Shawn Hill.

Hill spent seven years in the majors starting in 2004, four with Montreal/Washington, one with San Diego and the last two with Toronto.  Hill did miss 2005 with an injury.

Jansen played 36 games with the Gulf Coast League Blue Jays after being drafted in the 16th round in the 2013 MLB amateur draft.  He batted .246 with 4 doubles and 18 RBI.  No home runs, so you know this one felt good.
